Graffiti

Graffiti is more than an unsightly nuisance; it can lead to further vandalism, acts of violence and a decrease in property values. Therefore, it's very important to remove graffiti as soon as possible.

Graffiti, whether on public or private property, should be reported on the Graffiti Hotline at 303.252.3849 as soon as it's discovered. This sends a message that graffiti will not be tolerated and it breaks the communication chain.

Graffiti Removal
If the graffiti is on public property, city crews will remove it. However, if graffiti is found on private property, you may remove the graffiti yourself, or you may call 303.252.3849 to request assistance from the city. Property owners must sign a waiver allowing the city to come on to their property and to remove the graffiti. No matter how it is handled, owners are responsible for removing graffiti from their property.

U.N.T.A.G.
Uniting Northglenn Together Against Graffiti (U.N.T.A.G.) is a community-based program that informs the public about graffiti and its effects on the community.

Part of U.N.T.A.G. includes neighborhood service officers reaching out to Northglenn students with a positive message about their role in the community and teaching to respect others.

Statistics show that most graffiti is done by males between 12 and 20 years old, with the motivation of achieving recognition from their peers. Conversely, the greatest deterrent to graffiti is removing it as quickly as possible.

To learn more about U.N.T.A.G., report graffiti or to get involved, call 303.252.3849.
