The North Metro Fire Rescue District (NMFRD) provides fire protection and emergency ambulance service for Northglenn.

NMFRD was originally named West Adams County Fire Protection District. It serves the city of Northglenn, city and county of Broomfield, and portions of unincorporated Adams, Jefferson, Weld and Boulder counties, for a total area of approximately 63 square miles.

The district has seven stations.
