The Northglenn Police Department is an organization where community safety and quality of life are truly a shared responsibility between the community and the police; where crime prevention is as important as crime response; where individuality is respected and valued but team work is prized; where continuous improvement is the way we do business; where everyone is responsible and accountable to the community, the department, their division, their team and their fellow city employees; where excellence is the minimum standard; where we celebrate our collective success and work our tails off to correct our failures; where caring, creativity, empowered, family and trust describe us; where problem solving is a way of life; where information flows to whoever can use it; where mistakes are a tool for learning not evidence of failure; and where human life and human dignity are the cornerstones of our beliefs.
The Northglenn Police Department is a full service municipal law enforcement agency consisting of three primary divisions working under the office of the Chief of Police: Administration, Patrol and Investigation/Training.
The Administrative Division handles department standards, hiring, training and crime analysis. The Patrol Division provides first responder 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Support Division conducts investigations, provides victim services and handles police records.
The Investigations/Training Division The Investigations Section consists of nine investigators—two of which are assigned to the North Metro Drug Task Force. In addition there is one civilian assigned as Criminalists, and one as a part-time Evidence Technician. The Detectives assigned to this unit are responsible for follow-up investigations of felony and serious misdemeanor crimes. The Training Section is responsible for hiring and training new and current employees. Enhanced 911, dispatch and records management services are provided by contract with the Adams County Communications Center.
