Northwest Open Space/Oscar Arnold Nature Area

Northwest Open Space
Northwest Open Space is a 50-acre athletic complex that is utilized throughout the year for youth and adult soccer, football, cross-country, baseball and softball. The fencing, infield mix and backstops on the ball fields were replaced in 2010, along with the addition of a new soccer field.

Oscar Arnold Nature Area

The Oscar Arnold Nature Area is nestled alongside the athletic fields at Northwest Open Space on the northeast portion of the property, north of the Farmers’ Highline Canal Trail.

This area hosts a unique blend of wooded areas with mature cottonwoods, cattail marshes, and other wetland plants that are valuable resources for wildlife. A variety of species including foxes, coyotes, raccoons, hawks, pheasants, and owls, among others are residents of this area.
