Volunteer with Recreation

Do you enjoy helping out with young people? If so, you may find the following recreation volunteering opportunities interesting:

• Trips are planned for youth in middle-school and high school. Adult volunteers are needed as chaperones to go skiing or to a water park, visit a corn-field maze, or go to a ball game, just as examples.

• Volunteer basketball coaches are needed for the youth basketball league for boys and girls in first through ninth grades nearly year-round. The purpose of these leagues is to introduce youngsters to basketball in a fun and instructional environment. Emphasis will be placed on fundamentals and skills development, participation, sportsmanship and most of all, FUN! Training will be provided for all coaches, at which attendance is required. Novices as well as experienced coaches are encouraged to sign up. Recruiting begins in November with league play in January.

• Roving Rec is an exciting and FREE activities club for youth at Northglenn and Huron Middle Schools. This club offers youth the opportunity to work on homework, play games, do craft projects, hang out with friends, earn outstanding field trips, participate in service projects and meet new people. Volunteers age 16 and up are needed to assist with activities.
