2014 Strategic Plan

2014 Strategic Plan

City Council and staff members met in January 2014 to formulate a strategic plan for the city. They focused on what goals needed to be set to keep Northglenn a vital city. On April 14, City Council officially adopted the 2014 Strategic Plan as a guide for city staff on an 8-1 vote. The overall goal decided on was the idea of “vitalization”. The document states, “Vitalization will bring energy and life to the City through redevelopment, civic engagement, and a renewed sense of community.” In order to meet that overall goal, two objectives were set. The first was to implement a community vitalization program and the second was to enhance the community’s image.

The vitalization program consists of:
• A citywide sustainability assessment
• Positioning the city for the arrival of the FasTracks North Metro Rail Line
• Rewriting the Zoning Code
• Developing a citywide streetscape program
• Assessing the City Hall Building

Enhancing the community's image will include:
• Developing a marketing and branding plan
• Evaluating how to use community events to promote the city
• Measuring how the community is viewed
