Youth & Teen Programs

Northglenn's Youth and Teen Programs offer a variety of activities and events to teens age 10-17.  All programs and events are open to both residents and non-residents.

Spring 2023 Programs
Club Rec Website Banner
Open Mondays and Wednesdays, January 30 - May 24
No program:
  February 20; March 20, 22, 27 and 29
Ages: 10-17.  Ages 14+ can use the weight room in addition to the fitness area.  Ages 12+ can use the fitness area.

Get homework help from your peers or hang out after school on Wednesdays.  Play video games and board games in the poolside classroom.  Or, take advantage of your Recreation Center membership and swim in the pool, use the courts in open gym, or work out in the fitness area.  Only 24 teens can be in the poolside classrooms at a time.   Check out the activity schedule!

Registration Fees: Must have a Northglenn Recreation Center membership or pay the drop-in day fee of $2.50/$3.25.  Check in at the Recreation Center front desk.  Meet in the Poolside Classrooms for video and board games.

Transportation: FREE transportation is offered from Northglenn Middle School to the Northglenn Recreation Center during Club Rec days.  To sign up for free transportation, teens should be pre-registered in Club Rec and be signed up for van transportation at least 24 hours in advance of transportation each date.  Van spaces are first-come, first-serve.

Ages: 12-17

Celebrate a day off from school by going on an adventure! Outings depart from and return to the Northglenn Recreation Center.  Cost includes admission, transportation, and supervision.

What to bring:  Sunscreen, a sack lunch, plenty of water. For aquatic trips, bring a swimsuit and towel.

Program notices: Some activity days may run a little longer and require an early drop-off and late pick-up time.  Most activities require an additional waiver be signed by the venue in order to participate in the day's activity.  Running late to drop-off or not submitting a destination's waiver will make your child unable to attend that day's activity, and a refund will not be processed.

Registration Fees and Trip Dates: Pick and choose your trips by selecting which days you want when registering.  Signing up for all 3 trips in a week will apply an automatic discount at registration. Full payment is required upon registration. Due to program popularity, holds are not available.

February 25, March 25 and April 22, 7-9pm
Ages:
13-17.

Enjoy a night out at the indoor pool with a movie!  The first 60 youth will be allowed to participate at this FREE event. Bring a swimsuit and towel.  Drop off starts at 6:45pm and pick up ends at 9:15pm at the Northglenn Recreation Center.  Movie titles will be advertised one week before each event.


CHALK Banner
All Ages
Gather as a family or team of up to 4 people to create a marvelous piece of chalk art to decorate Festival Lawn.  Participants are provided with a concrete canvas, chalk, and can potentially win a prize!  Register here by 5/17.

Summer 2023 Early Registration

Register early to have fun all summer long visiting different aquatic facilities, amusement centers, and outdoor adventure outings.  Trips depart from the Northglenn Recreation Center at 9:00 am and return by 3:00 pm, Monday - Thursday.   Wednesdays will be held at the Northglenn Recreation Center for fun on-site and local destinations.  Cost includes admission, transportation, and supervision.

LIT Website Banner
Ages 13-15
Teen volunteers develop leadership, job training and mentorship skills through active service learning on a team.  Volunteers will explore communication and conflict resolution techniques and develop personal goals.  Due to limited availability, this program is selective.  Interested volunteers will need to complete a Leaders in Training volunteer application and an interview.

Volunteer Opportunities

Connect with your community and volunteer!  Teens age 15-17 will be able to give back to their community by helping at upcoming events.  This volunteer program is not appropriate for teens needing to complete court-ordered community service.  Register here up to one week in advance of each event date.
