The Records Section serves as the main reception point for the Northglenn Police Department.
The section is comprised of seven full time Police Records Specialists (PRS's), two part-time Customer Service Representatives (CSR's), three part-time transcriptionists and one Records Supervisor and is under the command of Commander Osgood of the Support Services Division.
The section also is fortunate to have dedicated volunteers who assist with fingerprinting citizens and processing pawn slips.
Their primary responsibility is the processing, release, storage, and preservation of criminal justice records. They provide general information to the public regarding municipal, state and federal laws. PRS's take reports on both criminal and non-criminal matters which do not require an on-scene investigation by a Patrol Officer. They are responsible for support functions for Patrol, Investigations, and other units in the department. Additionally each PRS is a deputy court clerk for both Municipal and County Court, a certified CCIC/NCIC computer operator and a Notary Public. They provide notary services to the public, free of charge, during business hours or by appointment.
