About

This 45,000-square-foot facility will be the future home of the Police Department and Municipal Court.

Over the years, the current space has become too small. Built in the early 1980s, the building is beginning to show significant signs of age. The aging mechanical systems, and the size and configuration of the space simply don’t meet the needs of the department, or modern police department standards.

Location

On a six-acre site at the intersection of Community Center Drive and West 112th Avenue, overlooking Interstate 25.

Funding

The cost of the building is $18M; additional ancillary costs put the total in the $21-$23M range.

Timeline

  • 2014 - An assessment identified spatial and functional needs and the plan for a new building started to move forward
  • April 2017 - Construction began
  • Fall 2018 - Scheduled opening. You can take tours once the facility is complete.
