Heather Geyer was appointed at the July 23 City Council meeting and will assume her duties on Aug. 20, 2018. Geyer replaces former city manager James Hayes, who resigned in June.
"I am honored and excited to be appointed to serve as the city manager for the city of Northglenn,” said Geyer. “I look forward to working with the City Council, staff, residents, and business owners to continue to move Northglenn forward with a vision for the future!"
Geyer comes to Northglenn from the City of Wheat Ridge, where she has served as administrative services director since 2011, and as the assistant to the city manager/public information officer from 2006 to 2010. Geyer brings more than 19 years of experience in local government management.

Geyer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of Denver and a Master’s of Arts in Political Science with an Emphasis in Public Policy from the University of Colorado at Denver. Geyer serves as a Mountain Plains regional vice president on the International City-County Management Association (ICMA) Executive Board of Directors. She is a graduate of the Senior Executive Institute (SEI) and a graduate of the Leadership ICMA Class of 2015. She has received numerous national and state awards for organizational development, budget development and communications.
