Leighty Elected New Mayor

Nov. 5 was our local election, and Northglenn will welcome a new mayor and two new City Council members, and welcome back two current council members for a second term. (Please note, at the time of printing the election was not yet certified.) If the final election results do not change, the following candidates will be sworn in:

  • Meredith Leighty, Ward 1 City Council member and current mayor pro tem, will be the new City of Northglenn mayor.
  • Ashley Witkovich will be the new Ward 1 City Council member.
  • Becky Brown will serve a second term as the Ward 2 City Council member.
  • Katherine E. Goff will be the new Ward 3 City Council member.
  • Antonio B. Esquibel will be the Ward 4 City Council member. He was elected the Ward 4 representative in 2015, then appointed mayor in June 2019.

Additionally, there was a ballot issue this year that did not pass: Question 3F: Shall the City of Northglenn Home Rule Charter be amended to make the language throughout the Charter gender neutral?

7,671 residents voted in the election.
