Magic Fest Aug 18-19

See 25 Magicians on Five Stages in the Park

Enjoy an abundance of magic in Northglenn, CO on Aug. 18-19. The “Festival of Magic” is two days of magicians and magic with events and activities for everyone. Events will be held outdoors at E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park, 11800 Community Center Drive, or across the street inside the DL Parsons Theatre. All outdoor events are free.
“We wanted to have a festival that was new to the region,” said Steven Stokes, events supervisor for the City of Northglenn and the mastermind behind the city’s festivals. “Our success with Food Truck Carnival and Pirate Fest proved to us that the metro area wanted new and innovative events. Magic is super popular right now, so we wanted to offer a kaleidoscope of varied performances that would appeal to people of all ages and interests.” Magic Fest has an 18+ event on Friday night and a free family day on Saturday, in addition to ticketed performances open to all audiences on Friday and Saturday.
Headline performers are magicians and comedians David and Leeman, award winning comedy magicians from Los Angeles. They have been lauded as “Miraculous” by the L.A. Weekly, “Incredible” by the L.A. Examiner, and a “Laugh Riot” by the Tolucan Times. On the most recent season of NBC's America's Got Talent, the comedy duo finished their run as Top-12 Finalists. AGT judge and funny man, Howie Mandel, said David and Leeman are great magicians, but the fact that they are comedians is what makes them entertaining. During their audition for the AGT they used their own pseudo-science of "pressure phrenology" to make Howie Mandel lose his ability to read. They have made appearances on the NBC Today Show with anchor Lester Holt and mostly recently they sat down with Queen Latifah to chat and perform a strange quantum experiment on The Queen Latifah Show. This summer, David and Leeman will appear on the CW Network's Masters of Illusion produced by Associated Television. In June of 2014, Bellum Entertainment brought David and Leeman on as writers for the syndicated comedy clip show What Went Down. In 2012 they won the "Best Live Show" award at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival. Their comedy and magic is edgy, cool, and smart. And they do not own ruffled shirts.
