3rd Place Finish in Local Government Awards Program for Webster Lake Promenade

The city of Northglenn received third place for the Webster Lake Promenade in the Development Category of the 2014 Local Government Awards Program. The award recognizes exceptional contributions to regional economic development through innovative municipal and county efforts to create vibrant places where people live, work, and play.

The program is sponsored by the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) and an awards banquet will be held on Wednesday, April 23.

“Having the Denver metro area recognize Northglenn for this project is a real honor,” said Mayor Joyce Downing. “The Webster Lake Promenade really solidifies the city’s community center, adding a place to eat and shop to E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park and the Northglenn Recreation Center.”

Located at the southeast corner of Interstate 25 and 120th Avenue, the Promenade is a 10-acre commercial site that will bring in approximately 200 new jobs and $13 million in capital investment.

The Promenade grew from a partnership that began in 2011 between the city, the Northglenn Urban Renewal Authority (NURA) and Hawkins Development.
