Free Bike Giveaway Event
Saturday, December 5, 9:00 a.m.-Noon
10950 Fox Run Parkway, Northglenn, CO 80233
We do have plenty of kids bikes available and will be here until noon today. We ran out of adult bikes.
Northglenn’s generosity keeps rolling! We have more than 200 bikes that have been donated through the city’s Northglenn Bike Program, which have been refurbished by volunteers. They are now ready to be given away to local families. To receive a bike on Dec 5, you must pre-register for a pick up time.
The event registration is currently full. We do have a waiting list and will contact people if we have cancellations. Click the button to get on the waiting list.
If you have a bicycle sitting in the garage collecting dust, we have a place to take it. The city is accepting donations of bikes to be given to local children.
Years ago our sanitation workers saw bikes going into the landfill that had something simple not working on it - a broken chain, a flat tire, a loose brake line or worse yet - a child that had outgrown a perfectly nice bike. They hated to see the waste and brought the bikes back to our maintenance yard for fixing and giving back out to neighborhood children in need. Flash forward over 10 years and now the city collects over 300 bikes per year from a number of sources, uses volunteers to fix up the bikes and return them to people in need all over the city.
If your bike is in the city, we will come to pick it up. You can also drop it off at the Maintenance and Operations Facility, 12301 Claude Court at the front entrance.
Tax donation forms are available upon request.
In 2019 more than 600 bikes were given away to the local community through the program.
- The bicycle distribution occurs in the summer and in December, in cooperation with local food banks and Derby Day.
