Short-Term Rental License

No property may be used as a short-term rental without the property owner first obtaining a license.

A short-term rental license allows property owners to rent or lease all or part of a residential property for periods of less than 30 consecutive days per lease.  Examples of short-term rentals include those advertised on websites such as Airbnb and Vrbo, though rentals may be arranged by any means.

Obtaining a Short-Term Rental License
An application for a short-term rental license is required to be submitted to the City Clerk's Office with all required attachments and applicable fees.

Each applicant must also apply for a City of Northglenn Business Sales and Use Tax License

Price
  • $ 175 non-refundable license fee for a NEW application
  • $ 150 non-refundable license fee for a RENEWAL application  
  • $ 25 LATE FEE if application for RENEWAL is not filed by Dec. 1 


Renewal and Transferability
A short-term rental license is good for one year and shall be renewed annually.  The license is non-transferable and shall be surrendered upon sale of the licensed property.
