Public Communications and Engagement Department

The Public Communications and Engagement Department oversees communications, community engagement and major events for the city. See the Three-year Plan for details on department goals and functions. 

Public Communications
Public Communications provides timely, accurate information to the media, community, businesses and nonprofit agencies regarding city programs, projects, events and activities to support transparency in government and to foster an informed community.
Responsibilities
Public Communications is responsible for the following activities in the city:

Community Engagement Division 
Events
Community engagement creates connections and provides involvement for area residents through large scale community events that include four festivals and several smaller community events: 
  • Food Truck Carnival
  • July 4th Festival 
  • Festival Lawn events like Dancing Through the Decades and Bubble Fest
  • Pirate Fest 
  • Kids’ Fishing Derby
  • Neighborhood Nights
  • Noel Northglenn
