Public Communications
Public Communications provides timely, accurate information to the media, community, businesses and nonprofit agencies regarding city programs, projects, events and activities to support transparency in government and to foster an informed community.
Responsibilities
Public Communications is responsible for the following activities in the city:
- Public and community relations
- Production of the Northglenn Connection
- Management of city social media
- Content management of the city website
- Video of city-produced shows, including council meetings and study sessions
- Operation of Channel 8
- Audio-visual services
- Graphic design
- Advertising
- Assistance with events and groundbreakings, including Mingle with the Mayor
- Cable franchise regulation
- Administration of citizen surveys
Community Engagement Division
Events
Community engagement creates connections and provides involvement for area residents through large scale community events that include four festivals and several smaller community events:
- Food Truck Carnival
- July 4th Festival
- Festival Lawn events like Dancing Through the Decades and Bubble Fest
- Pirate Fest
- Kids’ Fishing Derby
- Neighborhood Nights
- Noel Northglenn
They are also responsible for community outreach programs and proactive relationship efforts with residents, including:
- Northglenn Bike Program
- Parks and Trail Partners
- Neighborhood Beautification Program
- Farmers’ Highline Canal Cleanup
- Snow Stormer Program
- Other volunteering opportunities
