National Night Out

  • Heighten awareness of drug and crime prevention efforts
  • Generate support and participation in crime prevention efforts
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community relations
  • Send a message to criminals to let them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
community relations unit

The community relations unit seeks to develop and strengthen relationships with citizens and businesses within the City of Northglenn.

Current members of the community relations unit are Officer Steve Garber, sgarber@northglenn.org and Officer Kellon Hassenstab, khassenstab@northglenn.org.

The community relations unit is supervised by Lieutenant Commander Jeremy Sloan,jsloan@northglenn.org.

Officer Stephen Garber
Officer Stephen Garber
Officer Stephen Garber, sgarber@northglenn.org, has been employed with the Northglenn Police Department for approximately four years. He is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University, and the Colorado Police Corps police academy. Prior to being assigned to community relations, Garber worked day shift patrol. He is currently a weapons of mass destruction instructor. He enjoys police work because of the freedom the job brings, and the chance to meet people and affect lives in a positive manner.

Officer Kellon Hassenstab
Officer Kellon Hassenstab, khassenstab@northglenn.org, has been employed with the Northglenn Police Department for approximately four years. He is a graduate of Southern Oregon University, and the Colorado Police Corps police academy. Prior to being assigned to community relations, Hassenstab worked day shift and swing shift patrol. Hassenstab trained new patrol officers at the police department after being selected as a field training officer in 2006. He is currently a certified radar/laser and firearms instructor. He enjoys community relations and the chance to work with community members to make Northglenn a better place to live.
