Mission of Community Engagement
To create connections and provide avenues for the exchange of information, involvement, interaction and problem resolution, through a variety of means including proactive interaction with residents, volunteer services, community outreach and events. | | Proactive Interaction with Residents
The city is committed to community governance, the active participation of residents.
- Our staff values customer service and endeavors to be responsive to citizen inquiries. If a complex problem needs further attention, contact Jenni Murphy at 303-450-8904 or jmurphy@northglenn.org
- Communication, via mail or meetings, is initiated to inform/involve residents of major development and/or maintenance activities in their neighborhood.
- Residents are encouraged to form neighborhood planning groups, informal or formal, to address neighborhood issues and concerns. Staff members assist and support the efforts of residents to gather, problem-solve and create solutions.
- Grants are available to resident groups interested in neighborhood improvements and community building projects. Our Neighborhood Program Specialists are happy to met with interested residents to develop ideas.
- As issues are identified, City Council or staff may initiate activities to involve our residents in discussion and/or dialogue to receive input toward the issue. Recent examples include a FasTracks task force, exploring the defining characteristics of Northglenn, and dialogue regarding the recreation center. Current issues and opportunities for involvement.
