Training
Sgt. Lopez currently serves the department as the Field Training & Evaluation Program Coordinator for new officers, and conducts various types of Use of Force, Officer Safety & Street Survival, and SIMUNITIONS Scenario training for the entire department. In November of 2007, Sgt. Lopez was assigned to his current position as the police department’s Training Coordinator. He is responsible for the internal training for department members. This unit reviews and updates training plans annually and maintains records of individual and unit training. Sgt. Lopez can be reached at ilopez@northglenn.org.
Sgt. Ian Lopez has been a member of the Northglenn Police Department since April of 1999, and a member of the Northglenn/Thornton SWAT Team since April of 2001. He served for several years as a Field Training Officer and was recognized as the department’s “Trainer of the Year” in 2002 & 2006. |
