The City of Northglenn was visited by 134 first and second graders as they toured City facilities including City Hall, the Northglenn Recreation Center, Police Department, and the Municipal Court. The children had a hands on tour of the North Metro Fire trucks, Northglenn ambulances, sanitation equipment, street sweeper, park maintenance equipment, water trucks, and a lift truck.

At the end of the tour the kids participated in a community service project by cleaning up the E. B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park. It was a day full of learning and fun!
emergency preparedness

The city is working with Adams County in preparing and implementing plans in case of a natural and terrorist disaster, as well as plans in case of health issues such as the pandemic flu.

At this time the state, county and local governments are urging all residents and businesses to start working on a disaster plan for your family and employees. In a disaster, first responders need to take action and respond to the scene and then help those in most critical condition. Therefore it is important that each household and business have a plan that can be implemented before the state and local government assist in the situation.

Ready Colorado, a public organization concerned about homeland security and hazard preparedness, has provided the city with brochures and publications that can assist residents in getting started on an emergency preparedness plan.
