Each spring, city crews flush every hydrant along the 110 miles of water mains in Northglenn to remove debris. Small amounts of iron and manganese may temporarily discolor your water during this process, but it poses no health threat. If you notice a rusty tinge to your water, open all your faucets at the same time for a few minutes until the water runs clear. Avoid doing laundry if the water is tinged as it may discolor some items. For questions about the city's hydrant flushing program, call 303-280-7834.
