Neighborhood Watch is:
  • A block-by-block approach to instill a greater sense of community, security and well-being, and reduce the fear of crime in a community. It brings law enforcement and the community together as a team to reduce crime and build relationships in your area.

  • An ongoing process to put the word neighbor back in neighborhood. Getting to know your neighbors and their routines allows you to respond correctly and quickly to an emergency situation and may prevent a crime or save a life.

  • A cohesive body of concerned citizens addressing issues that are important to the entire community.

Participants say that Neighborhood Watch "really does reduce crime and it keeps neighbors in touch." It is a "great ice breaker to get to know new people who move into the neighborhood."
