Across form the Northglenn municipal complex on Community Center Dr., is the award winning E. B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park. It was named after a fallen police officer in 1985 and today it is one of the most highly used parks in Northglenn. The popularity of E.B. Rains, Jr. Memorial Park is well established in the community as it plays host to numerous community and family oriented special events. The park includes established amenities including five picnic pavilions, a playground, basketball court, and public restrooms.

If you would like to attend a public meeting in Northglenn there are many opportunities to do so. | | City Council Meetings
A City Council meeting involves making and amending laws, developing policy and making decisions on the governing of your City by citizens that you elect to the City Council. Unless changed by a motion of the City Council, the Council meets regularly on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 11701 Community Center Drive. You are welcome to attend these meetings as they are always open to the public.

In addition to City Council meetings Council can schedule, on an "as needed" basis, study sessions. Study sessions are commonly held on the first, third or fifth Thursdays of the month at 6:00 p.m.in Council Chambers. At study sessions Council has the opportunity to review and discuss important issues, staff projects, and future Council meeting agenda items. City Council does not take official action during workshop “study” sessions.

Public hearings are meetings open to the public and held to solicit public opinion, input and comments. Public input/feedback is often solicited when the City considers major changes to City policies, programs, facilities, or services or policies. | | Boards and Commissions
Residents interested in leading the direction of the community can apply to serve on one of the City's Boards and Commissions. Residents of all backgrounds and interest can help make a difference in the future of Northglenn.
