The City of Northglenn was visited by 134 first and second graders as they toured City facilities including City Hall, the Northglenn Recreation Center, Police Department, and the Municipal Court. The children had a hands on tour of the North Metro Fire trucks, Northglenn ambulances, sanitation equipment, street sweeper, park maintenance equipment, water trucks, and a lift truck.
At the end of the tour the kids participated in a community service project by cleaning up the E. B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park. It was a day full of learning and fun!

Water Measurement
The water charge is based upon water consumption, measured in thousands of gallons.
Every month a trained meter technician electronically collects water meter reads. While driving through the city, the technician’s computer receives electronic signals from each meter. This information is transmitted to the billing system, which then compares the consumption to the normal usage pattern. Any reading outside the normal pattern is investigated prior to billing and readings are checked again. If you have any questions, call 303-450-8770. | | Residential Rates and Information
Calculate your water charge with the Residential Water Rate Calculator.
The city has a three-tiered water rate structure designed to cover the costs associated with maintaining a water and sewer distribution system. A minimum usage amount has been set at 3,000 gallons for both water and sewer. The following water rates will go into effect with the water and wastewater billing received after June 1, 2004.
The current water usage and rates are as follows:
0 to 3,000 gallons: $9.45 flat fee for water
3,001 to 15,000 gallons: $3.15 per 1,000 gallons of usage
15,001 to 23,000 gallons: $3.70 per 1,000 gallons of usage
23,001 gallons and above: $5 per 1,000 gallons of usage
Your sewer charge is based upon the average water consumption for the months of November, December, January and February. This average consumption is multiplied by $2.85 and sets your sewer rate for the next year beginning with your April utility statement.
Every residential water account will be billed for a minimum of 3,000 gallons of water and sewer usage each month; the total minimum bill for water is $9.45 and sewer $8.55 equaling $18 per billing cycle.
If actual consumption is more than 3,000 gallons, the customer will be billed for the actual water consumption and the sewer amount determined during winter sewer averaging. | | Payment Information
