Across form the Northglenn municipal complex on Community Center Dr., is the award winning E. B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park. It was named after a fallen police officer in 1985 and today it is one of the most highly used parks in Northglenn. The popularity of E.B. Rains, Jr. Memorial Park is well established in the community as it plays host to numerous community and family oriented special events. The park includes established amenities including five picnic pavilions, a playground, basketball court, and public restrooms.

Located 23 miles southeast of the City of Northglenn, Denver International Airport is one of the world’s largest airports, providing nonstop daily service to more than 126 domestic and international destinations. Officially replacing the old Stapleton International Airport in 1995, DIA is one of the world's busiest airports.

If you are driving from Northglenn to Denver International Airport, there are a few routes you may take.
You can take Interstate 25 south to Interstate 270 and go east. This will connect you with Interstate 70. Going east on I-70 for a few miles, you'll see an exit sign for Pena Boulevard and Denver International Airport that veers off to the left. Pena Boulevard will take you directly to DIA.
If you're looking to avoid traffic, the "scenic" route would be taking 104th or 120th avenue east a ways to Tower Road. Go south on Tower Road and you run right into Pena Boulevard. Note that this will likely take longer than using the interstates.
Another option, although it will cost you a few extra dollars, is taking E-470. If you drive north on I-25 past Thornton, you run into the E-470 toll road. E-470 circles around and through the northeast metro area that typically provides a traffic-free drive that connects directly with Pena Boulevard and DIA. Click here to learn more about E-470. |
