traffic planning

The City of Northglenn bases local traffic planning on funds available from the Capital Improvements Program in the city's business plan. Current projects include the upkeep of infrastruture to normal expections; however, with the current Colorado economy, not all of the essential projects can be included. The main focus of local traffic planning is to provide safe and responsive traffic flow within the City of Northglenn.

Top priority projects include:
  • Ancillary projects in conjunction with the new I-25/120th Avenue Bridge. Northglenn will share some of the costs associated with upgrades that the Colorado Department of Transportation will not fund. Total Northglenn allocation is estimated at $250,000.

  • In response to numerous complaints received from residents regarding the intersection of Huron Street and Kennedy Drive, the city is evaluating the intersection to determine what improvements can be made.

  • Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) is responsible for regional traffic planning. www.drcog.org
