Six pieces of public art are installed at E. B. Rains, Jr. Memorial Park as part of the "Art on Parade" program. These pieces, which are on loan from the artists, are displayed in the park for one year and then replaced each year with a new selection. One piece, the "People's Choice", is purchased for permanent installation in one of the City's parks or facilites. Susan Geissler's life-sized bronze titled, "The Potato Main", is the recipient of the 2004 "People's Choice Award". This sculpture is currently located on the west side of City Hall.

Q. What is the City of Northglenn’s Toilet Rebate program?
A. The program was designed to offer citizens an incentive to upgrade their old high water use toilets to new water saving low volume toilets.
Q. Will these new toilets save water?
A. Yes. New low volume toilets use 1.6 gallons per flush or less. Most toilets made prior to 1994 use between 3.5 and 5.5 gallons per flush. The average person flushes the toilet 1,800 times in one year! That’s a lot of water savings!
Q. Do the new low volume toilets work well?
A. Versions of low volume toilets made in the early 90’s often had problems. Since then, manufacturers have invested in improved low volume toilet designs that work as well or better than the older toliets. Customer satisfaction surveys confirm that owners of low volume toilets rate them very well about 90% of the time.
Q. Toilet Performance - What brand of toilet should I buy?
A. The choice is yours. Choose your new toilet carefully. It will be in your home for a long time. A few tips in selecting a toilet that performs well include selecting a toilet with a large throat and a glazed bowl finish. Note, some manufactures use the same name for more than one model number, so it is best to remember the specific model number and the model name. The City of Northglenn does not guarantee performance of any specific toilet.
Q. Will my new toilet be inspected?
A. New toilets will randomly be selected for inspection prior to issuing the rebate credit.
To qualify for a rebate you must meet the following requirements:
- Your new toilet must be purchased after January 1, 2003.
- The replaced toilet must be older than 1994. Rebates will not be issued for the replacement of newer toilets.
- Rebates are limited and are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
- Customers must own the living unit where the new toilet is installed.
- Residential customers will receive a $75 rebate for each replaced toilet up to 2 per household. Customers with commercial accounts such as owners of multifamily apartments will receive a $50 rebate for each replaced toilet up to 8 toilets each month.
- Rebates will be applied as a credit to the property water account or a check will be written to the customer within 60 days of approval.

Q. What is the City of Northglenn’s $100 HE (High Efficiency) Washing Machine Rebate program?
A. The program was designed to offer citizens an incentive to upgrade their old high water use washing machines to new water saving high efficiency units.
Q. How much water will these new washers save?
A. New high efficiency washers use 27 gallons per load or less. Standard washers can use up to 55 gallons per load. Depending on how many loads of laundry are done at your home, the water savings could be up to 8,000 gallons of water per year. That’s a lot of water savings! Due to their lower hot water use and increased water extraction efficiencies, HE washers can save up to 40% of the energy used for laundry while using significantly less detergent.
Q. How well do the HE Washing Machines work?
A. Customer satisfaction with HE washers is generally high. Benefits such as lower water, energy, and detergent use are a major advantage and there is an additional benefit is that most HE washers do not use a conventional agitator and are therefore easier on your clothing.
Q. Which HE washer should I buy?
A. All HE washers that qualify for the rebate are listed on the Consortium for Energy Efficiency, (CEE) approved washer list. To access the list you may visit the CEE web site at www.cee1.org/home.html. The CEE list is structured from Tier 1, (least efficient) to Tier 3B, (most efficient). As with many products, some models are better than others, so choose your new HE washer carefully, as it will be in your home for a long time. You may want to check Consumers Report for a comparison of various HE washers.
Q. Will there be an inspection on my new HE washer?
A. New washers will randomly be selected for inspection prior to issuing the rebate credit.
To qualify for a rebate you must meet the following requirements:
- Your new HE Washing machine must be purchased after January 1, 2003.
- Customers must own the living unit where the new washer is installed. The new washer must remain at that address for a minimum of 5 (five) years from the date of purchase.
- The HE washer must be listed on the approved CEE list described above.
- You must submit the original-dated sales receipt, a copy of your water bill, and a signed application form including the washer make and model number.
- Rebates are for $100 and will be applied as a credit to the property water account or a check will be written to the customer within 60 days of approval.
- Rebates are limited and are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
