2009 Capital Improvement Projects
The Capital Improvements Program (CIP) is a listing of priority projects that are intended to meet City Council's goal of upgraded city infrastructure and facilities. Upgrades come in the form of new facilities or infrastructure, or maintaining the current investment for the benefit of Northglenn residents. CIP projects help to maintain streets, parks, buildings, sanitary wastewater system, water distribution systems, water and wastewater treatment facilities, traffic control devices, stormwater tributaries and other assets.

- | | 2009 Street Improvements

This CIP includes the patching, crack seal and double chip seal or overlay of Garland Drive from Washington Street to Grant Drive, Roseanna Drive from Pecos Street to Livingston Drive and Malley Drive from Washington Street to Irma Drive.
This project also includes the application of a single chip seal to West 112th Avenue from Melody Drive to Cherokee Drive, Maiden Way from Truda Drive to Lavinia Lane, Varese Lane from 104th Place to Ura Lane, Dodge Drive from West 99th Avenue to Belford Drive, Emerson Street from East 114th Place to East 115th Avenue and Pecos Street from West 106th Avenue to Northwest Open Space.
Miscellaneous concrete repairs throughout the city and Greenway Trail concrete replacements are also included in this project.

| | Malley Drive & Highline Drive and East 112th Avenue & Larson Drive Traffic Improvements

This project includes the design and construction of a traffic signal at the Malley Drive and Highline Drive intersection and a school zone at the East 112th Avenue and Larson Drive intersection.
Construction is anticipated to be complete in August 2009.

| | West 99th Avenue Waterline Replacement

The West 99th Avenue Waterline Replacement Project includes the replacement of the old, failing waterline on West 99th Avenue with the installation of a new waterline from Huron Street to Dodge Drive.
The project is anticipated to be complete in summer 2009.

| | 104th Avenue Bridge Enhancements

CDOT is replacing the bridge at 104th Avenue and I-25 beginning in 2009. The city has included enhancements in the bridge construction project beyond the level of the basic bridge replacement project that CDOT was planning. The enhancements include ornamental railing, pedestrian lighting, corner monuments, and city signage.
NURA is funding the construction of the enhancements which are anticipated to be complete in the fall of 2010.

- | | Water Treatment Plant Clearwell Addition

The Water Treatment Plant Clearwell Addition will construct a new clearwell at the Water Treatment Plant. The clearwell will allow the city to meet new disinfection requirements set forth by the state. The city has teamed up with The Engineering Company for the design and construction administration of this project and Jennison Construction Company for the construction. The project started construction in June 2009.
The project is scheduled for completion in March of 2010.

| | Washington Street Detention Area Design Project

On Jan. 22, 2009, City Council approved an agreement with Urban Drainage & Flood Control District (UDFCD) for the engineering and design of improvements to the stormwater/flood detention area located on the west side of Washington Street at approximately 105th Avenue. The project is currently in the preliminary design phase. The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in late 2010, early 2011.

- | | Standley Lake Pipeline Inspection

The Standley Lake Pipeline Inspection Project will inspect the entire Standley Lake Pipeline, which is the only raw water pipeline that transmits water to the Northglenn Water Treatment Facility. The pipeline inspection will determine the condition of the existing pipe and determine which pipe segments will need future work or replacement.
The pipeline will be inspected the week of Nov. 2. The inspection report will be completed by January 2010. -
