Across form the Northglenn municipal complex on Community Center Dr., is the award winning E. B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park. It was named after a fallen police officer in 1985 and today it is one of the most highly used parks in Northglenn. The popularity of E.B. Rains, Jr. Memorial Park is well established in the community as it plays host to numerous community and family oriented special events. The park includes established amenities including five picnic pavilions, a playground, basketball court, and public restrooms.

Northglenn Channel 8 is the City’s Government access channel devoted to programming and videotext information that will assist the residents of Northglenn in participating more actively in the Community.

Through a franchise agreement with Comcast Cable, the City of Northglenn currently utilizes cable Channel 8 for its governmental programming.

The Community bulletin board provides information about programs, activities, services and events throughout the metro area. If you would like information related to a non-profit organization placed on the Bulleting Board, please fax the details to (303) 450-8708, attention Public Communication. Be sure to include your name and telephone number should we need to contact you with any questions.

City Council Meetings
To better serve and keep our community informed of City Council Actions, residents who subscribe to Comcast, are able to view City Council meetings from the comfort of their homes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 8:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. Study sessions follow each City Council broadcast.
*Note: The length of each City Council meeting and study session can alter this viewing schedule.

Eye On Northglenn
Join us for Eye on Northglenn (EON), the monthly program that focuses on issues, events, activities and volunteer opportunities within our community. This program is hosted by Mayor, Kathie Novak, and airs every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of the week at 8:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.

Programming
Programming available to the Northglenn community on Channel 8 is the Annenberg/CPB Channel of free educational programming as part of an alliance between the City’s Channel 8 and Annenberg/CPB in Washington, D.C.

The Annenberg/CPB Channel features renowned educational series in all areas of high school and college curriculum. The channel has no commercial advertising and is produced by Annenberg/CPB with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

Notable programming of Annenberg/CPB include: A Biography of America, Destinos, French in Action, Journey North, The Mechanical Universe, The Private Universe Project, the Teaching Math Libraries, and The Western Tradition.

CATCH THE BEAT, this fall on Northglenn's Channel 8 TV on Comcast Cable!

Metro Beat TV is coming to Northglenn's Channel 8 this fall with 2 1/2 hours of local, entertaining and interactive television for Comcast subscribers.

Metro Beat TV is a pilot project that's the first of its kind in the country. It's a cooperative effort of Comcast Cable and many of the local government access cable channels in the metro area, including Northglenn's Channel 8. You can expect to see great new local shows like People Watch, featuring people you've heard of and others you'll want to meet. Metro Beat Magazine will take you on fascinating jaunts around the metro area, and on Delicious Detours to tasty eateries and entertainment venues you won't want to miss. Student Voices will give teens the chance to weigh in on topics important to them, and Inside the Cover will introduce readers of all ages to the best-selling books and local authors. And finally, viewers will have the chance to see the best of local community-produced programming under the auspices of Metro Beat TV Presents.

Comcast and Channel 8's in the metro area are partnering to pool resources and talents to assist in creating shows and sets, providing producers, camera operators, and editors to assist with the content for the two and a half hour block of programming each month.
