The vision for Northglenn residents is to enjoy living in an attractive city, to feel safe and secure throughout the community and to experience living in a self-contained community offering convenient amenities that is connected for the 21st century.
The vision for the city is to engage all citizens in the community, to take pride in Northglenn and to experience a strong intergovernmental linkage: youth to adults to seniors to community.
The vision for Northglenn's city government is to be financially sustainable, and to offer its residents first class city services.

Mayor Joyce Downing represents the city at large.
Currently, she serves as the council representative on the VALE Board, the Denver Regional Council of Governments, North Area Transportation Alliance, the Metro North Chamber of Commerce Interface Committee and is on the Performance Appraisal Committee.
