Why did the city start the DISE project?
The City Council has developed a strategic focus to promote diversity, inclusivity, and social equity in the City of Northglenn, and the DISE Board provides an opportunity to collect community feedback, to use in future decision-making by community leaders.
What is the purpose of the board?
The Board supports City Council’s strategic focus on diversity and will use community feedback to influence future decision-making to promote diversity, inclusivity and social equity in Northglenn. This will be done through education, outreach, and policy review and recommendations.
How long are the terms for Board members? How many Board memers are there?
There are 11 Board members and one Council ex-officio member who is a non-voting member. The 11 members consist of 2 residents representing each of the 4 Wards, 2 community at-large members, and 1 youth at-large member. What have others asked about CCPP?
Here is a list of our frequently asked questions about CCPP.
What exactly is CCPP?
CCPP stands for Community Co-Production Policing. It begins with the premise that those within the community should have an influential voice in the key decisions that affect how the community is policed. CCPP provides a collaborative model that helps the police department engage the community on important matters, by collecting valuable input from the community itself.
Will the CCPP decisions be public knowledge?
Decisions made through the CCPP will be made public, as all meetings are recorded. However, there will be times when the CCPP Board may meet in an Executive Session to review confidential information which is not public.
Will in-person meetings be recorded or available to attend virtually?
All meetings will be recorded, to include in-person meetings and posted on the City of Northglenn's website. For in-person trainings, members and the public can also attend virtually.
How will the CCPP affect the NPD?
The CCPP Board is a collaborate Advisory Board to the Northglenn City Council and Northglenn Police Department. The two will work together to better community policing, strengthen the relationship with our community, and work on recommendations in the BerryDunn 360 assessment.
Will CCPP board members have training to understand policies, procedures, State Law/C.R.S.?
CCPP Board members will have the opportunity to attend a mini-academy of six training classes. Later, they will have the opportunity to do a ride along, attend in-person and interactive training, and attend the Citizen's Police Academy.
