Watch Out for Illegal Dumping

Pollutants Can Flow Directly to Streams, Lakes

Protecting the city's waterways from illegal dumping is critical to keeping our environment healthy. Accidental spills and illegal dumping should be addressed as soon as possible.

Stormwater can carry pollutants from sidewalks, streets and parking lots directly into our creeks, streams and lakes. These pollutants include trash, sediment, oils, antifreeze, heavy metals, bacteria and fertilizers.

Moreover, stormwater pollution can be toxic for aquatic life, plants, animals and people.

To report illegal dumping or illicit discharges during business hours, please call the city's Neighborhood Services Division at 303.280.7876 or make a report on the city's Access Northglenn app.
