Residents Sought for Sustainability Project Advisory Group

Calling all community members! What do you envision for a sustainable Northglenn? Join an advisory group to help the city shape its plan to make strides towards a livable, vibrant and environmentally sustainable future. Make your mark on the city!

The project advisory group will provide input on the city's Sustainability Work Program. The program aims to address social, economic and environmental issues by setting goals and tracking citywide indicators.

Go to www.northglenn.org/sustainability for more about the project.

The group will meet for one or two workshops in August. The first is Wed., Aug. 8, 5:30-7:30 p.m. If the advisory group determines a second workshop is necessary, we will schedule it at that time.

The city began working on this project at the end of 2017 with consultants ICLEI –  Local Governments for Sustainability, and EPS – Economic Planning Systems. The process began with an audit of existing programs in the city that work toward sustainability. The consultant team helped staff to identify gaps in sustainable activities that the city can pursue.

The consultant also facilitated City Council and staff discussions to develop a vision statement and high level goals. This advisory group will provide staff and City Council input regarding the vision statement, high level goals and strategies to make Northglenn a more sustainable community.

If you would like more information about serving on this project advisory group please contact Becky Smith at bsmith@northglenn.org or 303.450.8741.
