Options to Get Rid of Big, Bulky Items

We're in the midst of the spring cleaning season, which can lead to a lot of big, bulky items for disposal, such as furniture, appliances or construction waste. You have options, as the city provides the following solutions to help out in these situations:

  • Free Landfill Day is Saturday, May 13, at the landfill in Commerce City. More details will be in the May Connection, or are up now at www.northglenn.org/freelandfillday.
  • A single-family residence can have up to two special pickups per calendar year. We'll come by and take up to 10 bulky household items. Go to www.northglenn.org/specialpickup for more information and then call 303.450.4004 to schedule.
  • Any group of five single-family residences in the same area can request a roll-off for free. All the details and the application form are at www.northglenn.org/rolloff.
  • July 15 is Dumpster Day at the Maintenance & Operations Facility, where the city will dispose of garbage or large items for free. Go to www.northglenn.org/dumpsterday for the list of acceptable items.

Please check the specific web page for any prohibited items for each of these services.

As a side note, large items like these should not be left in the public view, as this is against the city's Municipal Code.

If you have any additional questions, please call 303.450.4004.
