The city is applying for Adams County Open Space grants for two projects.
One is a renovation project at Hugh Danahy Park, located at Livingston Drive and Roseanna Drive. This project will include a new play structure, concrete replacement, improvements to the basketball court and replacement of the picnic tables and grills.
The other project is an upgrade project to the creek channel and a new pedestrian crossing at Grange Hall Creek and Washington Street in 2012 and 2013.
This will include a pedestrian underpass from the trail, creek stabilization measures, additional landscaping and improved drainage control to prevent stormwater from overflowing on to Washington Street.
To be eligible to receive Adams County Open Space grant funds, letters of support for the projects are required to be submitted to the Adams County Open Space Advisory Board.
If you live in the area of Danahy Park, if you utilize this park, or if you are a trail user that would like to see improved trail connections across Washington Street, you can help ensure that the necessary funding is secured by writing a letter of support.
For the Danahy Park project, letters may be submitted via mail to 11701 Community Center Drive, Northglenn, CO, 80233, attention: Amanda Peterson, or e-mailed to apeterson@northglenn.org.
