Joyce Downing was elected by the city at-large to serve as the mayor in the November 2009 election.

She serves as the council representative on the VALE Board, the Denver Regional Council of Governments, Rocky Flats Stewardship Council and North Area Transportation Alliance and is on the Performance Evaluation Committee.

Downing's term in office will expire in November 2013.
