The Northglenn Historic Preservation Commission was created in 1997 to protect, preserve and enhance the city's cultural, social, economic, political and architectural heritage.

  • Librarian - Collect, catalog, clean, repair, care for and arrange historical books, manuscripts, newspapers, photographs and other library materials.
  • Public relations - Promote programs, membership and funding of historical preservation through published information, lecture, radio and television programs.

The NHPC is also in search of people with the following professional qualifications: history, archeology, architectural history and architecture.

Interested in joining the Northglenn Historical Preservation Commission? Drop the completed application off at the City Clerk's Office in City Hall.

Strategic Plan
The 5-year strategic plan is meant to be a guiding document for the Historic Preservation Commission to further celebrate and promote the preservation of the city's history both tangible and intangible.

Stonehocker Property
historic

The Thede Farmhouse, located at 10950 Fox Run Parkway,  was added to the National Register of Historic Places and the State Register of Historic Properties in 1998. The farmhouse is commonly referred to as the Stonehocker House. It sits at the center of Stonehocker Park on the eastern edge of the city boundary.

The commission is currently working to restore the Thede House as a museum and cultural center, showing the history of homesteading in Colorado.

Deza Estates Historical & Architectural Survey
The Deza Estates Historical and Architectural Survey provides the developmental and architectural history of the mid-century modern neighborhood. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the HPC pursued a survey to understand the history, significance, and integrity of the neighborhood. The report provided recommendations for further research and opportunities for national and local designation.
