City of Northglenn Ordinance 1550, Ordinance 1573 and Ordinance 1578 addresses the regulation of medical marijuana dispensaries within the city.

The use of any property or structure within the city to distribute, transmit, give, dispense or otherwise provide marijuana in any manner to patients or primary care-givers in accordance with Amendment 20, and the implementing state statutes and administrative regulations, requires a permit from the city.

To apply for a permit to operate a medical marijuana dispensary, submit a completed application and all required attachments to the City Clerk’s Office. An application fee of $2,000 payable to the city of Northglenn must be remitted with the documents.

Note that the application requires a complete set of fingerprints to be submitted for the applicant. Fingerprinting is available at the City Clerk's Office; call to make an appointment at 303-450-8755. Cost is $16.50, which must be made with a business check, money order or credit card payment made out to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. Personal checks and cash are NOT acceptable.

The application also requires that the applicant apply for a city Business and Sales Tax License. A fee of $15 payable to the city must be remitted with the application.

As shown on the Medical Marijuana Dispensary Boundary Map (right), medical marijuana dispensaries are only allowed in certain locations within Northglenn.
