Art
The Wild West
Ages 6-12
Yee-haw! Come on a Wild West adventure! We will draw a variety of Western objects, people and scenes, while exploring different types of media. No experience necessary. Please wear an old shirt or smock on the last day. (3 days)

The Shopping Mall!
Ages 6-12
We’re off to the mall and some of our favorite stores to draw the stuff we love to buy from shoes to accessories. Our final day will result in one large store front scene, with our own clothing designs cleverly displayed. Pencil, color pencil and markers will be used. (3 days)

Horses
Ages 6-12
A great workshop for the horse lover. We will draw horse heads and full horse bodies in different scenes, all while using pencils, color pencils and chalk pastels to complete our drawings. Students will complete several horse and horse scenes each day. (3 days)

Ancient Egypt
Ages 6-12
Take a trip down the Nile! Let’s dig into how the Egyptians lived. We will investigate decorative objects in the treasured tombs including sarcophagi, hieroglyphics and more using a variety of media, including markers, color pencils, Sharpies™ and more. (4 days)

Acting Up!
Performing Arts Drama Camp

A Favorite Summer Experience since 1996!

Interested in what happens behind the scenes at the theatre? Students will learn what goes into creation a fully staged theatre production. We will cover scenic, lighting, sound, props and costume design as well as building and painting techniques for the stage. As part of the class students will work on projects to be featured onstage during the summer productions and a chance to be part of the backstage crew for “Twinderella.”

Make-Up for the Stage

In the Intro class, we will focus on the basics of stage makeup, the application of prosthetics, bruising, scars, and contouring to change the face shape. In the following workshops, we’ll focus on specific character makeup including zombies and fantasy character effects to help students learn how to apply stage makeup for any size audience, theatre, and show. Wear an old t-shirt. Materials provided, but you can bring your own kit if you have one.

Putting Your Best Foot Forward

Actors will acquire a deeper understanding of the audition process through preparation of a monologue and how to attack cold-readings. This class goes beyond the usual tips so the actor will find out how to specifically prepare for an audition: from walking into the room, proper attire, outlining his/her acting resume, the ideal headshot, and their personal slate.

Dance for the Actor

A great way to help young actors brush up on the basics and get more practice learning choreography for the musical theatre stage. Divided by styles, each section will focus on the basic steps and then we’ll learn a choreographed routine to two pieces of musical theatre. Includes audition tips and tricks. Two classes for each style.
Jazz/Fosse for the Actor
Jazz and Fosse are the cornerstone for all musical theatre students. Pieces used will be from West Side Story and Fosse. Wear comfortable clothes and bring soft-soled jazz shoes.
